Due Date: 20.7 2018. Community philanthropy organizations (community foundations, women’s funds, environmental funds, national public foundations, grassroots grantmakers, etc.); grantmakers mobilizing local resources; and philanthropic interests attempting to build a culture of philanthropy in their community are invited to submit concept notes for funding consideration.
The GFCF grants programme aims to strengthen and support community philanthropy approaches that help community philanthropy organizations to interest stakeholders, engage resources, and influence mindsets around tough social challenges at the local level.
The programme also works to increase the awareness and enhance the perception of community philanthropy organizations as trusted channels for people-led, people-owned development (including grantmaking systems, governance and management structures, fund development and sustainability, communications platforms, etc.).
Grants will range from U.S. $10,000 to $20,000, for an initial period of one year (follow-on funding may be possible).
