Spark provides seed, early-stage grants to grassroots women’s organizations and initiatives working to advance gender equality and the rights of women and girls in their communities. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
Priority Consideration will be given to (1) strong, passionate, persevering leaders with qualities that make us believe they will make their initiative a reality; (2) organizations that are “taking a chance” to improve their local communities; and (3) initiatives where Spark would be among the initial group of funders.
Organizations should (1) addresses root causes; (2) meet unmet needs; (3) employ norm shifting and innovative solutions; (4) be led primarily by local women; and (5) have operating budgets under USD $150,000.
In addition to funding (average USD $3,000-5,000 per grant), grantees receive pro bono professional services (e.g. accounting, legal, marketing, fundraising, board development, volunteer management, etc.) sourced from Spark’s network of young professional members.
