Applications Due 10.4 2019. The Fellowship is a group of writers, thinkers and artists who are passionate about learning and communicating with a view to better understanding themselves and others. Every year writing, visual arts, and theatre prizes are awarded to the best works concerning each years’ theme. For 2019, the theme will be “Identity”.
Writing: The winner and two runners up are invited to attend the Fjällnäs symposium. Winner receives £10,000 cash prize and is presented with the award by the poet John Burnside. £3000 go to the second place, £2000 to the third place. Open to all nationalities, aged 18 and above. All genres permitted.
Visual Arts: The winner and two runners up are invited to attend the Fjällnäs symposium. Winner receives £2000 and a further £1000 towards shipping and installing the winning piece. Open to all nationalities, aged 18 and above. All visual media permitted including, but not limited to, painting, sculpture, digital, and installation.
Theatre: Aimed at encouraging theatre writers at the start of their careers to explore and challenge philosophical ideas using the dramatic form. The prize will be £3000 plus a rehearsed reading at the Fellowship’s annual Symposium. Open to anyone above 18 years of age.
