Nominations due 30.4 2018. The Prize recognizes outstanding civil society action in defending human rights in Europe and beyond. Candidates are instrumental in uncovering large-scale systemic violations, successful in mobilising public opinion or the international community for a cause, and/or impactful to the human rights situation of a given group.Eligibility open to Individuals, NGOs, or institutions. Award consists of €60k, a trophy and a diploma.
The Prize is awarded each year by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), in partnership with the Vaclav Havel Library and the Charta 77 Foundation.
